Norma Demuro

E-Learning Expert, CEO @ keelearning

description

Successful and meaningful certification of prospective project managers is the cornerstone of successful project management. At the same time, the demands on the employees to be certified are increasing. Younger project managers, in particular, want modern e-learning solutions. But the use of e-learning software makes sense for all age groups and simplifies many training processes. Project management trainer Dietmar Prudix works with the e-learning platform from keelearning and explains why he relies on e-learning in certification courses.

About Dietmar Prudix

Dietmar Prudix is the founder, owner, and CEO of TrainingXperience (TXP). Since March 2020, he has been supplementing his training with the e-learning software from keeunit – Smart Learning. TrainingXperience specializes in project management in the areas of training, consulting, and support. Topics include: general certified training, agile PM, PM2 according to European standards, claim management, and much more. The company offers open courses and in-house courses. Dietmar Prudix has been in the market for over 20 years and believes that there are increasingly personalized projects in project management. Every company has different needs and implements its goals differently. Strong customer orientation is what defines TrainingXperience.

Why is e-learning useful or necessary in project management training? What advantages does this provide for you and your customers?

Many customers are active in the field of digitalization and are now also adapting their training accordingly. The new topic is: "Learning with all senses." Employees should be able to learn whenever and wherever they want. Learning as a whole is becoming more personalized and tailored to the needs of individual employees.

Young employees demand e-learning

Especially in digitalization companies, employees are demanding e-learning – above all the younger ones who have grown up with modern digital media. However, one should not initially offer purely e-learning. Both older and younger learners are quickly overwhelmed by this. That is why we rely on human-oriented e-learning – i.e., blended learning. In this approach, e-learning is supplemented by face-to-face sessions and vice versa. You could say it is not a question of whether, but when, how fast, and in what constellation e-learning is used. Added to this, of course, is the corona crisis with all its restrictions. Through e-learning, my customers in project management become more flexible, cater to the wishes of their employees, and we naturally achieve better and faster learning success as a result.

What should you look out for when using e-learning software in project management?

Older employees are often afraid of digitalization processes. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to how to deal with these fears correctly. One must alleviate their fear of experiencing disadvantages due to digitalization. And, after all, 25 percent have this fear. If you don't engage them, they feel powerless, unheard, and become blocked. That is why I introduce the e-learning system in a face-to-face session. Here, employees can experience the software and practice the applications together.

E-learning must be learned

With younger employees, on the other hand, they tend to overestimate themselves. This leads to them postponing learning. They misjudge their time management. Therefore, it is important to first enable people to learn in a self-organized way and to handle the new format. For example, I often agree on fixed goals with the learners. Until they realize and enjoy that they can design it themselves and see what is possible. It takes these positive experiences to have success with the application.

How exactly do you use the keeunit product in project management training?

I use keeunit in all courses as a supplement to the training, meaning employees can learn when and where they want. For this, I use the opportunity to prepare for certification exams through quizzes, but also longer exam sequences. Here, the focus is on the exam questions.

E-learning is a step forward for trainers and learners

The e-learning software also makes handling easier for me. I only need to develop and change documents centrally once. I used to have significantly more effort here.

Thank you for the interview!
