The comprehensive use of e-learning in companies has great advantages - this is mostly clear to both managers and employees. However, what is theoretically possible is rarely translated into practice. The cause lies in the lack of strategic implementation of e-learning in companies. Find out here who you need to get on board to fully exploit the possibilities of digital learning.

E-learning in companies: The 5 most important players

1. Management – Living digitalization

Digital further education, e-learning offers in companies, and lifelong learning: Managing directors and stakeholders have recognized that digitalization and its great advantages are also reaching small and medium-sized enterprises. They should provide the impetus for the implementation of e-learning offers in the company – and also help shape them themselves. Only when all parts of a business actively use digital offers in the company and understand them as part of the company will they also be fully accepted.

2. IT department – The foundation must run smoothly

To avoid frustration caused by the server constantly crashing or individual tools not working, the e-learning offer should be intelligently and stringently integrated into the company IT right from the start. The data protection officer should also actively participate here. If the technical foundation does not work or cannot be implemented and maintained by the internal IT, the project is doomed to failure.

3. Employees - Active use of e-learning

Employees from all departments should be sensitized to the topic of e-learning and actively supported in understanding the software and structure of the offers and using them independently. It is not enough to point out the new e-learning concept via a circular email.

4. Get e-learning experts on board

The respective e-learning offer is only accepted if it fits the corporate strategy and organizational culture. It is therefore advisable to integrate e-learning experts into the process for the conceptual finding phase and the implementation of the project to accompany it. This way, the e-learning project will not be "talked to death" in everyday business, but perceived as an important project, with planners and users being advised and supported externally.

5. Managers – Mediating between practice and theory

Managers in the individual departments have the task of communicating experiences in application and the need for improvement to the management level. There should be a lively exchange and ongoing communication between the departments so that e-learning in the company is actively used and constantly improved.
