[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tourism has been severely affected by Corona. As is so often the case in life, there are two sides to the coin. On one hand, many guests stayed away due to the lockdown; on the other hand, domestic tourism associations are benefiting from the strongly growing demand for vacations at home. One marketing offensive follows another. At the same time, the need for training in the areas of hygiene, data collection, data protection, marketing (including modern online marketing instruments such as Facebook and Instagram), complaint management, etc., is increasing for travel providers, hoteliers, and other tourism professionals. It is therefore timely that the EU is providing support to the tourism industry. A modern form of further education for employees in tourism is e-learning. But what does that actually mean – e-learning? What possibilities are there?
As an umbrella category, e-learning summarizes all forms of digitally supported learning. Whether e-learning courses are referred to as online learning or online training, computer-based learning, web-based training, or telelearning depends on the type of tools used.
These e-learning tools are available
An e-learning platform is a program on which you, as a tourism association, can make learning content available to and distribute it among your members – the learners – on which tests can be completed, and via which you can exchange information with the learners. On this e-learning platform, you can centrally store your learning content and roll it out to all members at the same time. They only need to log into the e-learning software. Furthermore, you have the option of dividing your users into different learning groups. For example, if you want only marketing staff to receive learning content on the topic "Online Marketing for Hotels," you simply assign them to the corresponding group with a TAG. The learning content can be of various types: from classic flashcards to interactive learning videos, everything is possible. Thanks to modern learning paths, you also have the option of mapping entire courses. Content B is then only available once content A has been completed. With tests, you can check whether the topics have been learned.
It has already been mentioned: With online courses, you can guide your learning participants through a seminar in a structured way. Here, there is the possibility of a course that you create with learning paths, or you can purchase so-called web-based training. A web-based training is an interactive learning video with exercises and a final test.
Sometimes it makes sense to exchange ideas directly. Or perhaps you want to replicate a face-to-face course online. You can do this via a webinar. Here, all learning participants are invited into a virtual learning room. In addition to webinars, your members can also exchange ideas in a chat.
