Why e-learning is worth it for academies

Corona is putting many academies in a difficult position. Face-to-face seminars have to be cancelled, and there is a threat of high revenue losses. Often, this even puts their existence at stake. The only remaining option is online courses. They make it possible to reach seminar participants at home. However, regardless of the current situation, a fundamental rethinking has been taking place among many educational service providers for some time now. E-learning was not born out of the hardships of Corona, but has long been a part of digitalization in modern education. We have summarized why digital course offerings are worthwhile for academies.

Remote courses are no longer a novelty – e-learning is part of it

As already mentioned: E-learning "has been around for a long time." Those who had already set up an online academy before Corona can count themselves lucky. But it is never too late for that. As an academy, you can still act now. On the one hand, to provide quick "first aid," and on the other, to be well-prepared for the future. Because it is not only when close contact is prohibited by the state that seminar participants appreciate the possibilities of e-learning courses.

E-learning is worthwhile for academies because…

face-to-face seminars can be replaced and/or supplemented with webinars

That is currently, of course, the biggest advantage. Participants in a distance learning course can learn from home and take part in webinars. Consequently, no meeting up is necessary. You can find out what you need to look for in a webinar tool here.

participants can learn independently of location and time

With your own online academy, you can make learning content available virtually. This has the advantage for your seminar participants that they can learn when and where they want – at their own learning pace and individually adapted to their own level of knowledge.

you can use varied learning materials

Modern e-learning software offers you the possibility to upload many different learning materials: quizzes, flashcards, learning videos, recorded webinars, graphics, and so on. As you can see, e-learning can be very varied. There is something for every participant, and your lecturers can let their creativity run free.

you keep an overview with statistics

With an online academy, you always keep an overview of the participants' learning behavior. You can use this in many ways: Which learning content is accessed often? Which questions do the seminar participants struggle with? Who has not yet completed which e-learning course?

more learning fun is offered thanks to gamification

Learning is allowed to be fun today – and should even be. Because it is known that content acquired playfully remains in the memory longer. A popular and very efficient gamification tool is a quiz. You can find out more about the topic of quiz apps here.

Inspire participants with your own online academy

At some point, we hope, the whole nightmare will be over. Perhaps, however, we will have to live with restrictions for a long time, or again. Either way: you can definitely inspire your seminar participants with a modern online academy. It not only secures your survival but also your status as an innovative educational service provider.
