E-Learning for academies - 5 advantages of digital learning platforms

The Corona crisis is changing our lives. In almost every area, we have to accept restrictions: schools and daycare centers are closing, sports events are being suspended, festivals are no longer being celebrated. School closures were among the first government-mandated measures. But of course, it doesn't just affect schools, but all educational institutions. This makes sense, because many people come together at in-person events. This means an increased risk of infection. In addition, participants in academy courses are even voluntarily refraining from events out of concern. Modern digital learning platforms can help to absorb these cancellations or even to continue seminars in times of crisis.
1. Diverse learning materials around the clock
Modern e-learning platforms offer the possibility of making a variety of learning materials available. These include flashcards, infographics, but also explanatory videos and web-based trainings (interactive learning videos, in which the student or seminar participant has to do exercises and complete a final test). There are no limits to the imagination of the teachers. For example, they can record and upload seminar units via video. Furthermore, learning content can be adapted quickly and easily and is available around the clock. This enables learning regardless of location and time.
2. Individual learning
Intelligent learning software enables seminar participants to learn at their individual pace. In addition, learning progress can be tracked and content adjusted accordingly. An enormous advantage, as it ensures that no one is "left behind" and it can be ensured that everyone has learned the content.
3. Monitor learning progress
Academies have the opportunity to view the learning progress of their participants. They can check in which learning areas there is still a need for catching up or which topics the participants find difficult. Regular online tests support this function and also take away the fear of upcoming exams.
4. Seamless communication
Online learning does not exclude communication. On the contrary. Cumbersome and incomplete communication channels can be avoided thanks to news functions. In this way, teachers ensure that they reach all participants. An indispensable function, especially in uncertain times of emergency. But the publication of new learning content can also be communicated via this channel.
5. Fun while learning thanks to gamification
E-learning is a necessity for academies when face-to-face seminars cannot take place. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be fun. Gamification is the word of the moment and aims to convey content to learners in a playful way. For example, through a quiz in which participants compete against each other, or in attractively prepared web-based trainings.
E-learning is more than just a tool to replace missed face-to-face teaching units or to compensate for shortcomings, because it achieves much more than that. It motivates, offers control, provides an overview, and offers individual learning solutions for academies of all kinds.
