In recent years, more and more employees have been confronted with digital employee training – and many have developed a taste for it. Learn here about the advantages of digital employee training and how it makes areas of personnel development more sustainable and efficient.

1. Independent of time and place

Digital employee training has the enormous advantage that employees can continue their education regardless of time and place. Via training management software, all employees have access to training content and can decide for themselves when they want to acquire knowledge about new products or complete training for service employees. Employees in home offices or remote workers have the same options for further training as teams on-site via digital employee training.

2. Flexible learning

The idea of microlearning is that employees acquire small "bites of knowledge" when they need them and are ready to absorb information. Do you need to use a new feature of the intranet and don't yet know how it works? Then click right at that moment into the how-to video that is available to you on the learning management platform.

Do you have five minutes? Then test your knowledge about the newly launched product via the quiz app and playfully compete with your colleagues.

3. Learning at your own pace

The big disadvantage of face-to-face training is that it wants and needs to convey a large amount of knowledge or skills within a limited time. Anyone who cannot keep up, is currently preoccupied with other thoughts, or simply cannot get into the topic at all, is quickly left behind here.

Digital employee training offers the advantage that employees can learn at their own pace. Repeating material, deepening focus areas based on interest, or asking follow-up questions to the manager via chat – this is possible via the internal learning management software.

4. Interactivity & Multimedia

Who doesn't know it: Classic training courses still consist of PowerPoint presentations today, which in the best case are briefly interrupted by video clips. This quickly pushes participants into a passive role that weakens concentration and invites daydreaming. Many interactive formats can be integrated into digital employee training. For example, organizations can invite participants to live webinars via the learning management platform, which provide an initial impulse and the opportunity to ask questions.

Discussions can be continued in the chat. Further information is stored in the media library, and participants check whether the content has sunk in via the quiz app. By using multimedia training formats, companies increase the chance that there is a suitable format for every learning type.

5. Identifying training needs

Digital employee training offers both employees and the HR department the advantage that successes are visible. At the end of digital employee training, there are often multiple-choice tests or other formats that test the knowledge and skills of the employees. With the evaluation, HR departments can also analyze the results to see if there are knowledge and skill gaps and thus a training need.

For employees, a flexible learning management system offers the advantage of giving quick feedback if important content is missing, if they would like to deepen their knowledge, or if they are having difficulties with training content. In this way, the offers and the quality of the training platform can be constantly adapted and improved with regard to requirements.

6. Employer Branding

Good learning management strategies in companies do not just aim to provide employees with knowledge as quickly as possible so that they can better handle their current tasks. A holistic strategy always aims at lifelong learning, because: Only those who look beyond their own nose – and learn – contribute their part to the further development of an organization. Anyone who offers their employees a comprehensive platform on which they find opportunities to develop professionally – and personally – signals appreciation and forward-thinking. And this, in turn, is valued by talents who become aware of such forward-looking employers.
