TEAM = "Terrific, someone else will do it"? This attitude must not prevail in your company. Instead, you should foster a team spirit that motivates every single employee and creates a community. The term TEAM should instead be understood as: "Talents finally excited about motivating." How does modern team building succeed? We have five ideas for you.
Hectic pace, time pressure, stress: Everyday work looks similar in many offices. Often, external influences like these lead to every employee disappearing into their own world. However, this does not exactly promote cohesion within the team.
The advantages of team building are obvious. The focus is on the following goals:
There are various measures that promote strong teams in a company, for example:
The aim is usually to strengthen the community and work together on better communication and fair distribution of tasks or finding roles. Strengths and weaknesses are analyzed, and concrete goals are worked out.
However, while these types of measures usually dedicate themselves "obviously" to the topic of team building, we advise building continuous cohesion subliminally as well – digitally: anytime & anywhere.
#Feedback: The suggestion box is long gone. But the idea behind it is not bad. After all, every employee should be able to communicate when something bothers them, even without showing their face. Only when problems are talked about can they be solved. Nowadays, there are simple digital ways to share one's pain: completely anonymously and with just a few clicks in a corresponding software application.
#News: It is not exactly ideal when important information spreads via the grapevine. Employees should always be informed directly about important changes in a company. This promotes not only the connection to the company but above all the cohesion within a team. So, what if you could send information to your employees via an employee app and not be dependent on when they next check the intranet or their emails, or even show up for the next staff meeting?
#Quiz: Games bond people together. That is well-known. However, you don't want to constantly distract employees from their work, and in a corporate context, games should by no means be silly. But gamification also enables further education and motivation in the company. For example, when sales staff get to know new product worlds via quiz or the onboarding process via a quiz app takes place with even more playful functions.
#MediaLibrary: Further education is important in every company. Often, however, this topic takes a back seat. A Learning Management System can enormously promote employee motivation through a media library with varied learning content (and other functions such as flashcards). Because only those who are well-versed in their subject matter can work well in their field. Employees who gain self-confidence through internal further education can also assert themselves differently within a team – for a perfect balance in the team!
And even better: An LMS can contribute to knowledge transfer not only in your own subject area. Rather, it allows you to get a taste of other topics and build understanding for other fields.
#Statistics: The motivation of team members can be strengthened when comparability is created. After all, no one wants to be the weakest link. Statistical functions in employee apps show, for example, who has taken quizzes how often. Who answered how many questions correctly and who is leading the ranking in the quiz duel. A natural and healthy kind of competition that can be implemented in your company with ease through digital solutions.
Classic team building games or workshops have not had their day. However, it is important that in a corporate context, progress is also made with regard to this aspect. Modern media make it possible, for example, via a web app or an app on a smartphone, to transfer various "old" elements into the digital world and offer them in an attractive way. In this context, an employee app, for example, does not have to be a complete replacement. It can also function as a supplement to offline team building measures.
