[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you want to expand your further education strategy, there is one topic you cannot avoid: digital learning. When looking for a suitable Learning Management System (LMS), however, one quickly arrives at the question: What does the LMS in my company really need to be able to do? Which functions are indispensable so that it is genuinely accepted by the teams? We would like to introduce you to five functions that every LMS in a company should have.
Whether at university, on a further education platform, or at work: an LMS should ideally have an authoring function. The advantage: In an LMS with an authoring function, companies can create, maintain, and update content themselves. If this function is missing, maintaining the system is costly and time-consuming. Furthermore, the content must be created and updated externally. An LMS with an authoring function is especially important for compliance training, where content such as legal regulations can change quickly. https://www.keelearning.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Produktvideo-komprimiert.mp4
Today, digital learning is no longer a one-way street: in an LMS for companies, social learning must be factored in and implemented in the form of a comment function. It allows employees, trainers, and other involved persons to ask questions and provide feedback. In the best case, this comment function is so well thought out that learners feel invited to exchange experiences and learnings or to start discussions for deeper understanding. On top of that, conference rooms within the software, where live training sessions or short briefings can take place, are a great addition for corporate LMS.
One of the biggest benefits of an LMS in companies is a well-thought-out quiz function. In tests and quizzes, employees can not only test their knowledge but also playfully compete with their colleagues. Many LMS in companies have the problem that they are rarely used proactively and are only perceived as a digital media library. The gamification approach activates people and invites them to actively try things out and learn. At the same time, employees receive direct feedback on their level of knowledge and thus know exactly which topics they should review again in order to successfully complete a training course or further education. Often, the ambition to be better than a colleague in a quiz duel is enough. https://www.keelearning.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Was-ist-Gamification-komprimiert.mp4
An LMS in companies offers an excellent opportunity to measure the learning success of employees and the success of further education and training courses. This is an enormous advantage over face-to-face training and an important instrument for HR departments. HR staff can continuously evaluate how well-developed the teams' knowledge levels are, for which topics there is still a need for training, and also which forms of online training promise particularly great learning success. With an LMS in the company, further education and in-house learning become scalable.
With a comprehensive LMS, companies save money on on-site training: costs for external trainers, rental of premises, and any travel expenses incurred can be saved when employees learn digitally. It also expands temporal flexibility: LMS in companies that also have a mobile function and a responsive view can also be used via smartphone. If the content is also entertaining, for example, short, fun quizzes, companies increase the chance that employees will log in during their lunch break or while waiting for the bus to test their knowledge.
